My first bonsai tree, bought at the Jardin Yili in St. Remy l'Honore in France. It is a Chinese elm, and is about 14 years old. My first goal is to NOT kill the poor thing, and then maybe attempt more daring adventures later. Since this was acquired in April 2009, I have since bought an apple tree and a Chinese privet (photos to follow one day--they're hibernating in the garage for the moment--very cold winter).

All in all, they make me happy to look at!
